Turkeyfoot Heights Subdivision, Preliminary Drainage Evaluation
The City of Green requested that Thrasher review the existing conditions and determine preliminarily what can be done to develop a storm sewer system for the existing subdivision. This study is currently in progress. The City is interested in determining if the localized flooding can be reduced or improved by routing the storm events. Over the last year or so the City has had several calls concerning storm water concerns in the area.
At this time the City has been reactive to the issues in this subdivision and would like to become proactive. Thrasher and the City have worked closely to determine several alternatives and working in the field to aid the City to minimize costs.
Meadow Wood Stream and Detention Basin Preliminary Study
This was preliminary storm water detention study for an established residential neighborhood. The study included a category 2 stream and 1.044 acres of category 2 wetlands. The City of Green had received numerous complaints from the residents. Thrasher interviewed the residents, modeled the system and created numerous alternatives for the City of Green to review, along with cost estimates and recommendations. The City’s storm water committee is currently reviewing the alternatives for the region.
