PROJECT DESCRIPTION

WVDEP through the Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System requirements.

The Program included the development of watershed plans, outlining all storm water conveyance structures within campus property and the establishment of a comprehensive program, aimed to address the six “minimum control measures” (Public Education and Outreach, Public Participation and Involvement, Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination, Construction Site Runoff Control, Post Construction Runoff Control, and Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping).

The development of this program required the creation of multiple “Policies and Procedures” for the University, allowing for the institution to implement and enforce management strategies that will lead to not only compliance with government regulations, but ultimately, the reduction or elimination of the impacts of illicit discharges and storm water pollution.
