The Pea Ridge area of Cabell County is a developing community that was experiencing major I&I problems and other issues due to growth.
The scope of services for this project included identifying the sources of the problems through survey and testing methods, recommending solutions, designing the project, preparing all bid documentation and providing construction management services for sewer line rehabilitation and extensions, upgrades of force main, lift stations and two sanitary sewer treatment plants.
To facilitate the need for greater capacity while eliminating the I&I problems, the engineering plans for this project included “pipe bursting” in growth areas. In areas of sufficient capacity for current and future needs, HPDE lining was utilized. This method eliminated I&I in a cost effective and efficient manner. The project also included a bridge structure for an aerial sewer line.
Pump Stations and Treatment
Thrasher upgraded 16 pump stations, constructed 16 new pump stations, upgraded 2 treatment plants (which included modifying headworks, aeration system, and installed UV disinfection units, added sludge conditioning system at one plant, upgraded both triplex influent pump stations and electrical systems), and many line upgrades (which were removed and replaced, along with deformed/reformed lining a bunch of line).
We also designed and provided construction oversight for several lines which provided new service to residents in the area.
Thrasher has worked continuously over the past and currently with Pea Ridge PSD on a variety of projects, including sanitary sewer lines, office buildings, and wastewater treatment plants.
